ARE CONFERENCES WORTH THE TIME? CIHT CONFERENCE CROATIA

Taking time out to attend conferences can be challenging to say the least. A two-day event, if you take into consideration travel, in reality is four days out of the office, not counting the work build-up that is waiting for you when you get back to your desk.

The Crikvenica International Health Tourism CIHT last week, is an example of a conference that is definitely worth the time and effort. Firstly, the organizers understand their priorities – top quality international speakers from a range of countries and backgrounds, slick presentations that start and finish on time and the right balance concerning the number/topic of presentations. Both in terms of quality networking as well as being informed about the latest developments in this this rapidly growing industry – this is an event that I would strongly recommend.

With its location on the Adriatic coast, the Kvarner region is not just an attractive conference destination but its unique micro climate, mountains and stunning natural beauty gives it a key advantage.

The main message of the conference last week can be summarized as – ‘conference chit-chat is easy, action is what counts.’ In other words, lets put into practice the valuable advice presented so well by these top experts. Or as my colleague Sarah Degeorges Sullivan recently posted: ‘Fall in love with action, not ideas.’ How true…
